THE COOPERAGE & JENNINGS BREWERY
Jennings Brewery in Cockermouth sits in the shadow of Cockermouth Castle, at the point where the rivers Cocker and Derwent merge. It's not surprising then that much of the site found itself under 5ft of water following the November 09 floods.
T Glendinning & Co managed the enabling and stabilisation works, including taking down walls and widening access points, allowing specialist piling contractors to complete complex structural repairs.
The T Glendinning team then managed a full refurbishment of the brewery premises including a new bar area for its on-site bar The Cooperage, brand new tearooms, kitchen, toilet facilities and cellar space. New bar and bar fittings for The Cooperage were crafted in the Glendinning joinery workshop.
Jennings Brewery has been one of the first businesses to get back up and running after the devastating floods, and was thrilled to be able to invite visitors back in time for Easter for its shop and tour experience, which now includes a new tearoom where lunch and refreshments can be enjoyed, as well as the traditional Cooperage Bar - all in newly refurbished and decorated splendour.
